Orpheum
Orpheum Audio was Neotica Corporation's music streaming platform, launched in 2011 as a direct competitor to Spotify and Rdio. It was deeply integrated into the Neotica ecosystem, offering lossless streaming on Neotica handsets and a desktop client called Orpheum Desktop.
Features
- "Orpheum FLAC" tier — advertised as CD-quality lossless streaming over 4G
- Curated radio stations mixed by in-house editors (discontinued)
- Offline smart sync — predictive caching based on listening habits
Known Versions
| Version | Notes |
|---|---|
| v1.0.2 | Latest known build (partial dump, missing audio codec blobs) |
| v1.0.1 | Extracted from a Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) running NeoticaOS 2.3 |
| v1.0.0 | Launch build — missing server-side playlist parsing libraries |
Archival Status
The v1.0.2 APK decompiles cleanly but the custom .noa audio container format remains unplayable with current tools. Work is ongoing to reverse-engineer the container headers.
